Further deliveries have started arriving at Southern Cranes & Access Ltd as the company continues to build a fleet of ‘refinery ready’ Liebherrs.

The West Sussex company pledged in 2022 that all new models from the manufacturer would be equipped with engine shut-down refinery kits. It took delivery of the first – an LTM 1150-5.3 with double fly jib and Variobase® outrigger set-up – just under a year ago, followed in November by an LTM 1300-6.3 which was the first in the UK and the first to be kitted out in the new branding and livery being rolled out across the fleet.

An LTM1070-4.2 arrived in January to kick-start 2023 deliveries. It sports the latest technology including the TELEMATIK single-cylinder telescoping system, while the ability to carry most of its ballast on the road means the crane can get to work immediately it arrives on site.
An LTM1110-5.1 with fly jib and hydraulic offset has just arrived at the customer and the momentum will continue in the coming months with a further threemachines earmarked for delivery.
COMING SOON: Other refinery-equipped machinesdue in are an LTM1055-3.1 and two LTM1040-2.1models.
Southern Cranes & Access is a family-run business headquartered at Horsham and working around London and the South-East. It runs a fleet including telescopic, mobile tower and spider cranes as well as telehandlers and powered access equipment.
Kelvin Prince, Director at Southern Cranes & Access, commented: ‘We are pleased to take delivery of yet more Liebherr cranes and look forward to the remaining models arriving soon.
