The Baldini Group, headquartered in Faenza in northern Italy, has expanded its fleet with a new LTM 1110-5.2. The decision to opt for the Liebherr mobile crane was made for several reasons: “Basically, we needed a machine with a capacity of between 100 and 130 tonnes for our existing fleet. Three aspects were decisive for our choice,” explains Barbara Baldini, CEO of the Baldini Group: “Firstly, the crane needed to be able to carry its ballast during on-road driving without the need for an additional transport vehicle. The 110-tonne crane therefore had to be able to travel just as autonomously as a crane with a low tonnage. Secondly, VarioBase® Plus increases crane performance and, at the same time, enables a larger working radius. Thirdly, the robustness of the 5-axle chassis played an important role, as the mobile crane is to be used in various sectors – including the construction industry for the assembly of prefabricated parts.”
Barbara Baldini highlights: “Liebherr has always stood for reliability, precision and quality. A few years ago, we invested in a 100-tonne crane that delivers outstanding performance. After this extremely positive experience, we decided to buy the LTM 1110-5.2 from Liebherr as well.”
“The new 110-tonne crane is very versatile. The design of the LICCON3 work screen is practical and operation is quick and easy. From a technical point of view, the crane is extremely stable and, at the same time, sensitive and quiet when driving on the construction site,” says crane driver Roberto Baldini, who tested the new machine immediately. “VarioBase® Plus also improves lifting operations, the driver’s cab is very comfortable, as is on-road driving,” adds the experienced crane driver, praising the round-the-clock availability and qualified customer service.
1 becomes 2 because of 3, the Liebherr LTM 1110-5.1 mobile crane becomes the LTM 1110-5.2. Quite simply because it has 3 new features – the crane control system, the driver's cab and the gearbox. The 5-axle crane, which was first unveiled at Bauma 2019, features the new driver's cab also unveiled at the trade show in prototype form, Liebherr’s new LICCON3 crane control system and also the recently announced ZF TraXon DynamicPerform gearbox. The oil-cooled multi-disk clutch on this gearbox is new. It has now undergone intensive testing and is ready for use. This means that the new LTM 1110-5.2 combines existing strengths with pioneering innovations to deliver greater safety and comfort. These new features are combined for the first time with a completely new crane design, which is prepared for telematics and fleet management systems and therefore represents the future of the all-terrain series.
The Italian Baldini Group was founded in the early 1960s. Today, the large company is active in breakdown services, crane and work platform hire, special transport, and car scrapping.
