The future of the construction and machinery world begins here: experience Liebherr's latest innovations and technologies at Bauma 2025. Under the motto ‘Hands on the future’, they will demonstrate how Liebherr is actively taking the future into its own hands and meeting the challenges of tomorrow today – together with you. Amongst many cranes and equipment for Demo and Display will be the ultra versatile and powerful LTM 1650-8.1 All Terrain Crane.
The Liebherr LTM 1650-8.1 is an 8-axle mobile crane designed for maximum performance in heavy lifting operations. With a nominal lifting capacity of 700 tonnes, it surpasses its predecessor, the LTM 1500-8.1, by 15% to 50%, depending on the equipment configuration.

This crane offers two telescopic boom lengths—54 meters and 80 meters—which can be interchanged using an easy change system. Its VarioBallast® feature allows for infinite adjustment of the ballast radius via a hydraulic slewing mechanism, enhancing flexibility on various job sites. Additionally, the ECOdrive system contributes to fuel savings and noise reduction during operation.

In January 2025, the LTM 1650-8.1 was utilized by Steil, a crane service provider, to install 45-tonne gate leaves at a lock in Müden, Germany. The crane's rapid setup and ease of operation were crucial in completing the project efficiently, especially given the logistical challenges of the site.
The LTM 1650-8.1 is suitable for a wide range of applications, including wind turbine construction and maintenance, heavy lift operations in construction, petrochemical plants, refineries, and communication infrastructure projects. Its versatility and high lifting capacity make it a valuable asset for complex lifting tasks.

Two LTM 1650-8.1 mobile cranes have unloaded huge rotor blades for wind turbines at the Jade-Weser Port near Wilhelmshaven in northern Germany. The two Liebherr cranes are set up on the quay, each with a 28-metre telescopic boom and a 49-metre luffing jib, and can lift their loads from on board at a radius of up to 53 meters with a ballast of 155 tonnes each. The vehicles belong to the Hamburg crane companies Knaack and Thömen (Hüffermann Group).
